Altamont Union was a melodic hardcore punk band from
Livermore, California, active between 2001 and 2005. The band featured Aaron Ferguson on drums, Chris Hopkins on guitar / vocals, and Gordon Jonas on bass / vocals.
In 2004, they released their only record, a 4-song EP titled BattleGorge: Zai on
CRITICAL HIT Records. They played shows around the Bay Area and beyond. Sim Castro and Danny Cozart played a few shows on second guitar.
After AU, Aaron joined
Of The Swaying Sort on drums, Chris joined
We Carry Thy Banner on bass and synth, and Gordon joined
Some Special Moves on guitar.

Hey, not sure if you all check this thing much, but I’m stoked you guys put your EP up on Spotify and Apple Music. One of my old bands played a show with you back in 04 or 05 and I was instantly hooked. Over 20 years later and I’m still looking up your band and enjoying every second of your EP. Anyway, thanks for making some incredible songs that have been stuck in my head for two decades!
